2. The shape of the prism does not effect its volume calculation.

Q: What would the area of the base represent if you filled the box with 1cm cubes?
A: It would represent the area of the bottom layer of the box.
Q: If you filled your box with 1cm cubes, what would the height represent?
A: The number of layers of 1cm cubes the box can hold.
Q: What are the variables for the volumes of a box?
A: The dimensions.
Q: Will the volume of the box be different if it sits on a different face?
A: The volume will NOT change because its size and dimensions will remain the same.
