Math Makes Sense 8 - Chapter 4.1: Exploring Nets (Vocabulary)

prism - an object that has two congruent and parallel faces (bases) and other faces that are parallelograms.


edge - where, on the shape, two or three sides meet. 


perpendicular - at a 90 degree angle.


polygon - a closed shape consisting of line segments.


vertex - the point where two sides on a shape meet, or the point where three or more edges meet.

right prism  A three-dimensional shape with two identical parallel bases, with all other faces as rectangles.


regular polygon - a polygon having all sides and angles equal.


congruent - shapes that match exactly but don't always have the same orientation.
